9. La Fée Verte
Information and Reviews
- Had dinner here. Planche fromages was good. Gave 4* because Salad paysanne was supposed to have mozarella and tomates marinées (but it was good anyway). The restaurant was quite busy with a birthday (?) party, so the waiting times were a bit longer: after waiting 20 minutes for ordered Creme brulée we decided to leave without it. Maybe next time.
- A winner. The staff is always welcoming with service like they have been waiting for you to visit. Affordable prices and a great location.
- Paris' original bar for classic Absinthe. Great selections. I tried the La Muse Verte, 68%, 8¥ for 2cl. What you do is drip water from an ice fount over a sugar cube that dissolved into the Absinthe. See the photos. The taste is somewhat similar to pastis. Absinthe was popular in France in late 19th & early 20th centuries and it was the poison of choice for Vincent Van Gogh which probably killed far too many brain cells and led to his demise. The restaurant has quite a good selection of food/meal menu at reasonable prices.
