The 9 Best Fertility and IVF Clinics in Paris

In France, IVF itself can only take place in authorised assisted reproduction centres, such as those at Clinique de la Muette or the American Hospital of Paris. Many couples, however, are followed by a private fertility practice that runs the tests, monitors stimulation and then sends them to one of these centres for egg retrieval and embryo transfer.

This guide covers both: IVF centres and the practices that prepare and follow treatment. For each one we note the team, the tests done on site, the partner IVF centre when stated and, where shown, English-language information.

How this guide is ordered

We selected fertility and IVF clinics in Paris with one idea: anyone searching should find businesses that master their craft, have happy customers, are easy to reach and are near where they need them.

Is IVF covered by French health insurance?

For patients covered by French social security, assisted reproduction is covered in full until the woman's 43rd birthday, for up to six inseminations and four IVF attempts per pregnancy, after prior approval. Some doctors charge above the standard rate, and those extras fall to you or your mutuelle.

Who can access fertility treatment in France?

Since the 2021 bioethics law, assisted reproduction is open to couples of a man and a woman, female couples and single women. Age limits apply, and treatment starts after a series of consultations followed by a one-month reflection period.

Can I get fertility treatment in English in Paris?

Yes, in some places. The American Hospital of Paris publishes its information in English, and Ova has an English website with a page for international patients. Elsewhere, ask when booking, and check the languages listed on each doctor's Doctolib profile.
