The 13 Best Plastic Surgeons in Paris

Paris has a dense cluster of private plastic surgeons, most of them in the 16th, 17th and 7th arrondissements. They share the same specialist qualification but differ in focus: some cover face, breast and body, others work only on the breast or only on the nose, and each operates in a different set of clinics.

This guide lists surgeons whose own websites detail their training, procedures and practical arrangements. For each one we note hospital background, main techniques, where operations take place and, when shown, whether the website has an English version.

How to choose Plastic Surgeons in Paris

  1. Check the qualificationIn France, cosmetic surgery may only be performed by doctors qualified in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery or in the specialty covering that part of the body. The Ordre des médecins directory shows each doctor's specialty.
  2. Match the surgeon to the procedureSome surgeons cover the whole body, others work only on the breast or the nose. For revision surgery or reconstruction after cancer, look for a surgeon who does that work routinely.
  3. Ask where you will be operated onGet the name of the clinic, whether you will go home the same day or stay overnight, and who handles follow-up if a complication arises after you return home.
  4. Use the reflection periodFrench law requires a detailed written quote for cosmetic surgery and a minimum of 15 days between receiving it and the operation. Use that time to compare and ask questions.

Frequently asked questions

How much does plastic surgery cost in Paris?

It varies with the procedure, the anaesthesia, the clinic, any overnight stay and the surgeon's own fee, which is set freely. Purely cosmetic surgery is not reimbursed by Assurance Maladie. Breast reductions above a certain volume and reconstructive procedures may be partly covered, sometimes after prior approval, so ask for a detailed quote.

Is there a waiting period before cosmetic surgery in France?

Yes. The surgeon must give you a detailed, dated quote, and at least 15 days must pass between receiving it and the operation. The period cannot be shortened, even at the patient's request, and it gives you time to compare surgeons.

Do plastic surgeons in Paris speak English?

Some do. Several surgeons in this guide have an English version of their website or a section for patients from abroad. Doctolib profiles also list the languages spoken, so check there before booking a first consultation.
